HT Garden Party 2022
Pimm’s and Pipers. Bounces and Breezes. I could go on, but these are just some of the elements that came together for the Holy Trinity Centenary Garden Party on Sunday 26 June.
The Community Montage
At first glance the idea of taking 16 disparate people aged between seven and 80, with varying degrees of artistic prowess, and have them come up with a single painting could be seen as a recipe for disaster. In the case of a new montage painting of Holy Trinity, conceived by HT member Kim Fewell, the result, in water-soluble oil paints, is actually a spectacular addition to the HT Centenary exhibition.
Opened Out to the Community
Engaging with our local community is important in the life and on-going work of Holy Trinity, even more so in this, our Centenary, year.
Building ‘Bricks and Mortals’ for 100 Years
Church is “bricks and mortals being built together for the glory of God”, so said Rt Revd Mark Wroe, Bishop of Berwick and acting Bishop of Newcastle, in his sermon to mark the opening of the Centenary Exhibition at Holy Trinity Church in Jesmond.

From Maundy Thursday to Easter morning we journeyed from foot-washing through the Ugly Cross, to the Empty Cross and on to the Transforming Cross.
Delicious Explorers’ Cakes
Holy Trinity’s Explorers’ Sunday School Group, for eight- to 11-year-olds, held its annual cake sale on Sunday 27th March and raised around £650 for the DEC fund for Ukraine. This annual event has become a firm favourite on the church’s calendar with everyone getting fully behind the initiative.

Jesus told so many stories as part of his ministry on Earth. They were relatable, recognisable illustrations that helped people to connect with what he was teaching, and helped them to connect with God. These stories – these parables – are the focus of our current sermon series.
Meet Our New Curate

Becoming an Eco Church
Climate change and sustainability are very important issues that have been at the forefront of our national media for some time now. As a church community, we have a responsibility to do our part for the preservation of our planet.
A New Approach To Preaching
As you should be aware, services within the church building have now resumed, the first of which took place on Sunday 28th March. While every precaution is being taken to ensure that these services are as safe as possible in the current climate, our Staff Team are planning on making further changes to the format of in-person services from Easter Sunday onwards.

If you have seen our service from Sunday 14th March 2021, you will know that we are currently marking one year since Holy Trinity’s services went online. Over the next couple of weeks, I will be speaking with some members of the congregation and leadership to share their thoughts on how the last 12 months have been for them.
Praying for HT
Last week we looked at how praying as a community can transform lives both within and outside of that community. By opening ourselves up collectively to God’s plan, we can take HT forward into new and exciting times.
