Praying for HT

Prayer2.jpg

Last week we looked at how praying as a community can transform lives both within and outside of that community. By opening ourselves up collectively to God’s plan, we can take HT forward into new and exciting times.

On Monday evening this week, we held a prayer meeting over Zoom to continue praying for the church and where God is taking us as we start the long road out of lockdown. Tim opened the meeting with a verse from Ephesians:

And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people.

~ Ephesians 6:18

We are called to pray on all occasions and in whatever way we can, whether that is in person or embracing new technology, like Zoom, as a means to connect with others to share fellowship and pray for one another and our community.

As I mentioned last week, if you are signed up to our mailing list, you will be receiving daily prayer points during March to encourage you to pray for every aspect of HT. As you pray each day, pray for:

HT Above.jpg
  • Wisdom – as a church, we have a lot of decisions to make in terms of how we move forward after lockdown. Pray that we would be able to discern what our church community and services should look like in the coming months.

  • Courage – pray that we will be bold enough to take the next step as a community with God and allow His will to be done at HT.

  • Peace – there has been a lot of upheaval over the course of the last year and this has caused a great deal of heartache and discomfort for many. Pray that we will be able to offer a place of peace for those who need it.

  • Strength – we know our church has been changed because of the last year. Pray that we have the strength to move forward and offer strength to those who need it, as well as asking for strength when we ourselves are in need.

  • Unity – as we begin to gather physically together again, pray that we will unite as the body of Christ, and not lose the connections we have made virtually during the last year as well.

In addition to the daily prayer points being sent by email, there are plenty of other ways you can get involved with praying for HT:

  • Prayer Walk – in our weekly newsletter, you should have received a link to information about a prayer walk that can be done individually or in a socially distanced group. Why not use this the next time you are out and about in your local area.

  • Zoom Prayers – join us again on Zoom at 7:30pm on Monday 22nd March, for 45 minutes of prayer together.

  • Online Services – don’t forget you can join with us every Sunday morning at 11:00am at https://htj.online.church for our services. Feel free to use the Live Chat and Prayer Request section to stay connected with us and to share prayers as you need.

Please continue to pray for and with us over the next few weeks and beyond. Feel free to use the comments section below to share your prayers for HT.
