HT Garden Party 2022
Pimm’s and Pipers. Bounces and Breezes. I could go on, but these are just some of the elements that came together for the Holy Trinity Centenary Garden Party on Sunday 26 June.
I could mention Family and Friends, Fun and Fellowship, Scones and Ice Cream (couldn’t find an alliteration there!) but that may a little too much.
Whatever words you want to use to describe it, the Centenary Garden Party was a great success and even the weather came to the party – more or less. It stayed dry but a fresh breeze got up which meant the bouncy castle was at risk of not being inflated. However, this was possible thanks to some shelter from trees by the Church Hall, much to the delight of the children who made good use of it.
The Pimm’s was expertly dispensed by the Vicar, and the Pipers were members of the Robson’s Choice Northumbrian Pipe Group. But, probably for most, the main attraction was to be able to get together with friends and family to enjoy the open air and just chat and play with the children.
Thanks to everyone who was involved in setting up the event. Perhaps special thanks to Robson’s Choice and the Bouncy Castle Man and certainly to those who made the excellent homemade scones and jam which were very much appreciated!
The next Centenary Event will be the Love Our Community Week from 7-14 August. The Centenary Exhibition will continue until September.
The Holy Trinity Centenary Exhibition runs until the end of September and is open on Wednesday and Saturdays from 10am-1pm and on Sundays from 1pm-3pm. There are activities for children and there is a café.
